This is an interesting, very early Native American organizing piece. I think it was probably sponsored by the Quakers. I know some of the descendants of some of the people mentioned in this newspaper, from my work at the Intertribal Friendship House in East Oakland.
I wonder where that basket is now & what it is worth?
