This print has been in my family for a long time, I am not sure if it is charcoal or just a print. never have seen it anywhere but the #of the print on the back is 4280 11/15 and a stamp I can not make out even with a magnifying glass. If anyone has a clue what this painting is I would appreciate it.

It's a print of a portrait of Dante Alighieri attributed to Giotto. The portrait is one part of a larger piece called il Giudizio Finale or the Final Judgement a fresco from the Cappella del Bargello in Florence, Italy. This version looks like it was taken before the fresco was heavily restored. It's considered to be the earliest portrait of the poet who is considered the greatest poet of the Renaissance and the father of the Italian language.
The stamp may well have Bargello on it?
thank you so much for the information, I never would have known who that was.
I just found this site and I love it. Thanks
