fenton-hob…
(124 items)
this is a set of 4 fenton candy dishes and swung vases. i have 2 swung vases similar to the two shown, only they are yellow hobnail and plum opal hobnail. the candy dishes are all pretty hard to find, especially in mint condition like mine. the covers have six little knobs underneath that hold the cover on and these are almost always chipped. i have the blue opal dish, the cranberry opal dish, the topaz (yellow) dish and the french opal dish.

So pretty ! I collect Fenton hobnail and is my favorite :)
yes it is a stunning pattern. pieces are getting harder and harder to come by. thanks
Yes , they sure are. I have only been collecting for three or four years and it's a challenge to find the nice pieces !
how big is your collection? i have been collecting for about 5 years now and have approx 5000 pieces of the hobnail pattern
I only have a couple hundred pieces of Fenton total, not as large as yours. I have been focusing on the blue hobnail and am now moving into the topaz and cranberry. Today I just received the large blue opalescent hobnail compote and am soaking it in hot water with amonia and dish soap to get the grime and stuff off. I mainly obtain these peices from Ebay and auctions , I know of no internet sites other than Ebay. Wish me luck, I hope to have a nice collection like yours one day ;)
oh thats very cool. i just got one of those compotes not too long ago. it is a pretty hard to find piece is mint condition because it is so large. post some pics of your fenton hobnail. i would love to see more precise pics. thanks
I will, I am in the process of re organizing so it may be awhile
great i would love to see some of your items. thanks
curious... what does the blue hobnail candy dish above worth ? I just picked one up for 65.00 .. your help would be appreciated :)
hello, sorry i didnt respond back earlier. the blue dish is worth about $100 so you got yours for a very fair price. the cranberry dish is my favorite. but that one is worth about $250 and they're pretty hard to find. make sure the six points on the lid do not have chips because if they do then the most you could get for the dish would be $40-$50 . like me, many glass collectors do not like chips and wont pay high prices like they would if the piece was in perfect condition. thanks let me know if you need any more help. thanks again!
Thank you for all the great information, I really appreciate all your help. I was mistaken though, the piece I told you about is a a footed candy dish... the same as what is in the picture but with a pedestal attached. Did I still get a good deal ? I look forward to seeing more pictures of your collection. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge with me. Thank you ! Chuck
Hi the candy dish like this is more common than the candy dish I have in my pic. I would say that the most you could get for the candy on a pedestal is $75 so I think you got a fair deal. Thanks
ok, I just bought a blue opalescent covered powder jar , what do you think is a fair price for a piece like this ? I paid 55.00 for it, is that fair ? thank you !
Chuck
i would have to see a pic. is it the powder jar that goes to the vanity set that have to two purfume bottles? if it is then 55.00 was too much. those usually sell for around $30-$35. let me know if you need any more help. thanks!
thank you Savoychina, looking4, and malta760!
thank you junkmanjoe!
How tall are the swung vases?
they are a little over 18" tall...they are the large swung vases. thanks
I don't think I've ever seen a yellow piece before. I love it!
The yellow is considered Topaz. They glow under black light because they are vaseline glass.
They are so yummy.
thank you so much scandinavian-pieces. yes they are.
