This is Loetz Phanomen Genre 1/844.
Go to LOETZ.COM and click Decors Index and you will find it.
To my opinion this is a copy of Loetz Gre 1/844, it seems much to heavy for an original Loetz vase, in any case the signature is fake.
I dissagree; the signature looks authentic compaired to the examples on Loetz.com - this one even shows the vertical lines associated with the antique engraving pen used by Loetz. How you can look at this signature and say it's fake is beyond me, and Loetz made many special shapes and sizes for exhibitions, so it is likely they made one this size, and those are the most likely to be signed. I agree with LB's; PG 1/844.
Loetz definitely made some heavy pieces. their glass wasn't lightweight. This is a very big piece. of course it will be heavy. I agree it looks right.
although things that look very right have been made by others. I just realized some important information is missing. :) what does the entire base look like and top view?
Sorry, I didn't see the fine vibrations in the signature, maybe my eyes get to old, if they are clearly seen, then this is an original Loetz vase
Looks good to me, though the pontil margins look a little irregular. It would be nice to have a full bottom photo. If you can't post here, then send to my email please (see my profile).
I apologize for being blunt (kairomalte) but I am passionate about Loetz. I also would like to see more pictures, because this really is an interesting piece.
If you need any further info on this piece, please email me (check my profile!)
