I bought this kachina doll made by Kim James forty two years ago. I found it in Arizona. This kachina is my favorite. I don't know anything about the artist.

This is not an authetic Hopi kachina doll. It is a souvenir carving made by the Navajo (who do not have kachinas in their culture). You are unlikely to find any accurate information on the "artist." Most of these carvings are production line factory work. Similar "Kim James" carvings found on the internet have "signatures" written by several different people. Some are printed, some written in cursive, but all different.

They are still lovely decorations. I thought they were souvenirs all along.
