The brand specialises in Cognac Fine Champagne such as that which was originally produced by French winemaker, Rémy Martin. Martin founded the business in 1724 and it is now owned by Rémy Cointreau, a company that was established in 1991. As of May 2012, the Rémy Martin company promotes its cognac product as having undergone an aging process of between 10 and 37 years (the standard for other products is 6 years).
