I found these among my father's things after his passing. I tried to locate information about this online, but have been unsuccessful. Has anyone ever seen one of these? It is in working order and plays music when the stein is lifted. No damage, mint condition. I was wondering if anyone knew its value? Or even its history???

The song it plays is Oh du lieber Augustin.A common song among musical steins.

The story lives on in the song Oh du lieber Augustin ("Oh, you dear Augustin"), which is still popular in Austria. The tune is nearly identical to the tune of Did You Ever See a Lassie?, as they share the same notes, but the only difference is that it is longer and more melancholy than that song.(wiki)

Are there any makers mark on the stein?

I have a very similar musical Stein. I don't know the age but the music box has a repair sticker attached from early 1900 or thereabouts. hard to read old german script. I'm guessing yours is at least that old and probably a fair bit older like mine. Hope you get some information about yours. I can't seem to get any about mine except it was proably first world war bounty collected by the troops/
