These are three different 1950 magazine advertisements for the Gorham Sterling Silver Co., Providence, Rhode Island. All three are full page color ads and measure 9 3/4" by 12 3/4". The first picture promotes the Melrose, Greenbriar, Strasbourg, Old French, and Versaille patterns. The second ad is a Christmas season ad and promotes the Melrose, Fairfax, Lily of the Valley, and English Gadroon patterns. The third ad is an introduction to the new Lily of the Valley pattern.
The Gorham Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of sterling and silverplate since 1831. The company was purchased in 1967 by Textron and is now owned by Department 56 in the Lenox Holdings.
