This is another great design from Ricard. Let me explain why: when I got COPENHAGUE ashtrays enough to form a tower, my obsession consisted in ordering the cigarette-holding holes in a way they would create a perfect vertical line... I guess Ricard thought about it too and his answer to that obsession was adding the shape of a wave and placing the hole on top of it... this way every hole will fall right on top of the others.
They're also made of melamine and they were made in the six colours you can see in the picture: red, orange, black, yellow, white and blue and they were sold in cylinder boxes containing six ashtrays -my guess is one in each different colour. I have got the original box, but I got it long time after I got my ashtrays...

Thanks vet and Bellin!
By the way, I forgot to mention something funny about these ashtrays: when I started collecting Ricard's stuff I was able to get a list of his design since 1962 to 1995 or so, but couldn't find the COCKTAIL ashtrays there... I wrote Mr Ricard to ask when did he design them and he told me "somewhere around 1970... In fact I had completely forgotten I had also designed these!!!" LOL
