1952

Sigvard Oscar Fredrik Bernadotte , Count of Wisborg ( 7 June 1907 - 4 February 2002 ) was born Prince of Sweden and designer. He was the son of King Gustav VI Adolf and his wife Margareta of Connaught . He lost his princely title when he in 1934 married the non-royal German Erica Patzek. He assumed the Swedish royal family's name Bernadotte as a surname . His father's grand cousin Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg appointed him in 1951 to the Count of Wisborg .

As a designer he stood among other behind Margrethe bowl , which is named after his niece, Princess Margaret , now Queen of Denmark. He received the Order of the Elephant in 1952 .

Sonja Bernadotte was Countess of Wisborg from 1951 to 1961. Their son Michael Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg, was born in Copenhagen in 1944.

In 1961-2002 he was married to actress Marianne Lindberg (born in Helsingborg in 1924).

I love the Margrethe Bowls. They were designed for Georg Jensen in 1954 by Jacob Jensen for Sigvard Bernadotte and Acton Bjorn. I used to use them but I've replaced them with a Corning glass set. I'm still looking for a full set of the utensils.
