This is an early United Clock "Flame of Life" model, it is an manual analog movement, later movements were electric. The case and movement are in great shape, there are small patches of the original bronze finish on it. It is 14 inches tall.
A bizarre clock for the period that it came from. I have heard it came out as an expression of nudism, nudist colonies. If anyone knows the real story behing this clock please let me know. The thermometer on it makes it look a little kitschy to me, nonetheless it is an expression of the Art Deco era.
