I bought a bunch of stuff at a sale today, including a box of old newspapers. I did not really look at them that closely until I got home. What a great box this turned out to be. There are many more, but I thought I would post these today for everybody, but especially my fellow veterans.

GREAT PIECES OF HISTORY :)
love them - born and raised in Austin, TX. I guess these two newspapers merged sometime later, since the daily paper is now called the "Austin American Statesman." What a formal name :)
Hunter,
Thank you very much. I live about 90 mi. from Austin, and I believe you are correct about the merger.
great info Kevin - and what a deal for the owner with that di-opoly (is that even a word)?
Thank you very much for the love and kind words BELLIN68 , Hunter , mustangtony , Manikin & walksoftly. Thank you AR8Jason for your information.
Tri- Opoly??? Is that a monolopy consisting of three entities?
That sounds exactly right packrat. Crazy - I think I originally meant bi-opoloy, but who's counting :)
*wink*
we dont mess with those fancy words up here in the sticks, we usually just call Kevin when there's more than a couple of letters in a word.
Thank you very much for the love miKKoChristmas11, mrmajestic1 & musikchoo
