Does it say Canonet on the top?
Yes it did, but they're some model of Canonet.
You have the first version Canonet dating to 1961-62. Canonet cameras were popular. The first was introduced in 1960 and they continued in various models into the 1980s. The stuff around the lens is a selenium metering cell. This has the ability for automatic exposure with the option for manual control. It takes 35mm film and the advance is underneath the camera as opposed to being on top of the body. It's not highly sought after.
its a canon canonet about 1961 with a selium exposure meter around 1964 pentax cameras had set the trend for the faster cds meter which used a battery it could read much lower light levels
