Displayed along with my pre-1900 wood & brass cameras is a variety of other antiques; camera accessories and other stuff. Here's a wonderful bronze inkwell of a stag's head ('other stuff'). The head is cast in two parts and bolted to a beautiful wreath themed base. It has a beautifully aged patina and, surprisingly, the original inkwell glass (imperfections and all) remains cradled between the antlers. And ... ahem ... notice how it resembles the 30 yo Dalmore scotch label? (These were not paired by accident!)

Beautiful, it does have a mold mark, which I have learned does not bother me. There also is a mascot with such uniform antlers, quite similar, which I do not have and debated to buy this month.
Here is the link to the mascot, not nearly as nice as your piece which I would have wanted also, based on its sheer beauty :

Gorgeous photo by the way.
Great inkwell, it would look nice with some blue ink in the bottle and a pen resting in the antlers.
Thanks Phil, vetraio50, Bootson and BELLIN!
Phil ... yes the head has a mold mark and the two sides are pinned together. Also thanks for the photo compliment. AND ... I think you should go after the stag head mascot. The price seems reasonable (at least to me, but what do I know).
Bootson ... about the blue ink and pen, but I'm a bit of a klutz and would likely spill it all over.
I have a stopper that would fit your inkwell, that I could trade for your "outdated" bottle o scotch. :)
Hey Bootson ... let me think about your generous offer ... hmmm ... uhm ... nah. Somehow outdated scotch works for me. :)
Thanks Hardbrake, AR8Jason, and blunderbuss2!
Thanks Manikin and appreciate the comment BELLIN!
Beautiful item! I love they way they have thought of nearly every thing in it's design: the antlers would hace been used of a multiple pen rest accross them!
Just needs a pen wipe provision!
Thanks, Hems303!
