I think these are fakes. I actually bought them thinking they were fakes, but wanted the CW team to weigh in on it.
The marks look like some early Weller marks but look how blurry the one is.
The glaze looks odd to me.
The bottoms are really rough.
They only cost me a couple of bucks and I thought this might be a great way to discuss fakes on the market.
I would really be interested to hear what you think. Or fake stories that have happened to you.
Cheers!!

I look forward to hearing what people say, Amber. The glaze is incredibly thick and has been 'ground' at the bottom. Interesting items.

Eye4. Thoughts on the pottery
It's real I'm thinking 1920-1930s
vetraio50 , its taken care of , it all good:)
we were talking about the weller pottery:) and these are real weller pottery if you look and read the links :) and you were talking about your lalique perfume bottle that you had boughten today:)
Isn't it great buying wha ou think is a fake and finding out you've gotten the best real thing??? Congratulations on the find!!!
I am still on the fence. I know the mark existed and is from something like the 20 to the 30s. (I love mark links!). But why is the bottom such a mess? Glaze is kinda off...hmmmm. I did not dig into this too much last night as I took a mega yoga class...pretty much done after that. Will continue the investigation today.
these are pretty much real , like i said last night markers mark do change after a while and well dating them. these are real , im 100% for sure on this one:) i hope those links ive given you Amberrose do help you as much:)
well amberrose after awhile things get moved around the glaze will shift as do to age , climate etc and being knocked around a little here and there as well and when they do the markers mark sometimes they will do too fast where it doesnt get on there the way it supposed to as well . and eye4beauty qaulity control will let these go through there is certain criteria that allows these to go through , i used to be a quality control , i would know how these things work.
i dont need a letter , i study , i research, and i do my homework , and for me 26 of retail experince and seeing so many things . im pretty much know what is and what isnt :)
26 years of retail experince of seeing a lot of stuff come and go and doing a lot of traveling to go to certain places :) to see certain things as well:)
Hi Amber! Check out these two orange glaze pieces:
http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/6946888
Note the ground glaze. It looks like this glaze demanded more than just a wipe.
and eye4beauty not everything is fakes, so lets just get this settled once and for all. my first question is to you why do you thrifting? and what is it that your looking for when you go thrifting?
i totally agree with you vetraio50:)
im thinking weller may have had to different lines out there at that time , this could be their studio line and then they had a traditional line as well.
2 different lines:)
thankyou eye4beauty:)
well eye4beauty ,thats when you start to research on your own, by taking the time .
if you were doing your homework, you wouldnt buy the fake:)
say what?
Alright you two, go back to your neutral corners! Geez, I step away for one minute to get ready for work, and look what happens!
Sean, stop teasing eye.
Eye, accept that we will all swing and miss.
Dang you make me regret having you two...oh wait you're not my children : )
eye4beauty if your so worried about fakes all time , then i suggest you go to your local anitque deal and start to buy from there:) i have say a lot of donations go to the thrift store because of the following reasons , 1. because a family member has passed away and family memebers dont want to deal with it the items and they just sell whats worth money when infact sometimes they get rid of the wrong things and they end up at thrift stores. 2. rummage sales , people get rid of remaining stuff from rummage sales and they dont want to wait next season to resell and get rid of clutter as well. etc etc etc , and thrift store do make mistakes by thinking its nothing when in fact it is really something.
Hello Amberrose , i was helping eye understand about studyying and researching ,thats all i dont what he means by pizza?

Bowl & Urn
Pottery & Porcelain Marks – Bowl & Urn: Simple designs of bowls, circles with a neck and topped with a line, were used in the 19th century when these marks first appeared. They were also used during the early 1920s on art pottery. Very elaborate urns and vases were marks in the early 1900s and continue to be used today. Factories in the United States and England were the main users of these marks, but those in Germany and Czechoslovakia also used them.
HERES THE OTHER MARKERS MARK FOR WELLER AS WELL HERES THE LINKS , IM VERY HAPPY TO HELP YOU Amberrose:) so heres the other links :)
