Steiffgal
(27 items)
Here we have Steiff's largest Piccy pelican. He is standing and unjointed, and made from yellow mohair that seems to have a touch of pink airbrushed highlighting to it. His wings are stretched facing back, as if he is about to take off in flight. Piccy has oversized feet that are made from yellow felt; they are partially lined in metal wires and are somewhat posable. His tail also has a simple half-circle tail lined in a metal wire; it is posable as well. Piccy's head is simply marvelous. The top of his head is finished in longish yellow mohair, in somewhat of a "mullet" style. His face is detailed with black and white goofy "google" style round eyes and a huge, show-stopping beak, made from yellow felt. The inside of his beak is lined in jagged-cut, shiny yellow patent-leather looking material, to simulate his teeth.
Steiff's Piccy pelicans were produced in 17 and 25 cm from 1959 through 1961 only.
