I was wondering if any collectors out there could tell me more about this doll. It's older than me, I've had it for as long as I can remember, even pictures with it when we were the same size! His clothes seem unique, I looked up pictures, and I haven't seen any other dolls with the cabbage patch ruffle & green knit with the logo. All I have been able to gather is that it is a Coleco doll with a hard plastic head and soft body. I played with him as a little girl, but he's been sitting up on the shelf for at least 20 years. I am wondering how much is worth on the antique market, though I don't think I will sell him, I do love this doll, have had it forever. Thanks for any comments!

You have a cabbage patch preemie baby doll african american in knit suit . Is your question about the clothes and are they tagged ? She appears to be from 1985 time frame .
I have a funny story to tell about these Cabbage Patch Kids. Back in the early 80's, they were the rage. There were fights in stores over who got one of the fast-dwindling stocks. I couldn't believe what I was hearing on the news. Every mother wanted one of these for her little girl. One day I heard on the news that close to Christmas a car had been broken into and the Cabbage Patch Kid that was destined to be some lucky little girl's Christmas present was stolen from the car. The thief left a note: 'Got the Kid. Don't call the cops, or the Kid will be slaw!' As I said, people went crazy over these dolls. So glad that you found one to love.
You're right! I remember people paying over a hundred dollars for one, just so they can have it for Christmas.
Another thing I think was real funny was (can't remember his name off hand) but the so call inventor of the cabbage patch dolls, wanted his friend to go partners with him on these dolls, and his friend laughed at him. I bet he cried after his friend became a a Millionaire from this.
