opensalts
(1 item)
I have no doubt these are open salts, however, I believe they were part of a centerpiece. The 3rd picture shows what would have been the part that was not visible, being attached to a center bowl, or perhaps a candleholder. They are enamel over copper. The heraldic shield is from the Bourbon family, that was once French royalty. I have been told that no one except family could display the family coat of arms. Does anyone know where I might find an image of a complete piece? I believe these are c.1600-1700s, perhaps earlier. Are there any known pieces in a museum that someone may have seen? Any further information would be appreciated. Can't find a good category to place this in.
