I am also a sucker for old tech books and old tool catalogs. Here are several mid 1950's Keuffel & Esser Company surveying instruments catalogs. As you can see there is some interesting stuff in here. There were so many drawings to pick from, I just picked some of the more interesting looking instruments. These came complete with price lists.

Nice packrat, I worked for K&E as an apprentice repairman in the early 80's before they were bought out. I have lots of K&E stuff posted in my Compasses and Levels Collection and Drafting Instruments Collection. The only catalog I have is the 1876 Edition (pocket size) - Great reference material.

That is amazing. I bet the 1876 has some great items in it. Why don't you post some of the earlier catalogs!
In would love to see some of your collection also.

The catalog is only a pocket size but 122 pages long. I cant really post the pages as I dont want to damage the binding. Most of the K&E items at this time were being imported so it is mainly drawing paper and drawing instruments seperated into German, Swiss, and French instruments and the Indian and Japanese inks and brushes. There are only four styles of transit levels like you pictured above and only one compass. All my instruments have already been posted on the CW board.
