Neat watch I bought recently at an estate sale. Price was rite, and it was in amazing condition! I believe its from the 1920's..Made by Illinois Watch Company. It says Relgis on the face and I couldn't find any information on it.

The warranty expired 65 years ago but she still runs great!

    =)

A classic american timepiece. The warranty you refer to actually is regarding the goldfilled case as opposed to the watches movement. Case manufacturers would warrant their cases to wear for 10,15, 20, and 25 years, a timeframe in which no brassing was suppost to wear through the gold plating. A large number of these goldfilled watches that were never meant to last so long still remain in good condition today, an indiciator of the quality used.

You have a size 12, open face, 17 jewled movement watch. This would have been a very common movement for the period, and while a good timekeeper, is nothing special. Your watch was almost certainly made between 1920 and 1925. I'm not sure what you paid, but ebay has hundreds of similar examples offered, generally for around $100.

Thanks for sharing and hopefully this is the start of a great watch collection

      Should be Grade 405
Sorry, the 0 should not be on the end.
