I found this stone at a yard sale and at first thought it was something a kid had just recently painted on but looking at the paint it looks like it was done a long time ago with old type lead house paint. I think it qualifies as at least a nifty little folk art piece. The stone fit’s the hand nicely as if it might have been an old Indian tool of some sort. Is it possibly an old American Indian tool stone or just a natural weathered formation ? I have seen highly polished celts of a very similar black stone.
