Yes, this is the Cross of honor of the German Mother. They were awarded to “worthy” National Socialist mothers who gave birth to the right kind of children. To qualify, both mother and father had to be able to prove they were of German blood – no Jewish or foreign grandparents. They must be genetically fit. The mother must be morally upright (by NAZI definition); no criminal activity, abortions, infidelity, or history of intimate interracial relationships. The entire family must show no evidence of genetic disorders, alcoholism etc.

The bronze medal was awarded for having four to five children, a silver medal was for six or seven children, and gold was for eight or more. Yours looks gold, but may be bronze, I’m not sure. The back has the date the order was established, and a facsimile of Adolf Hitler’s signature.

It LOOKS gold, but these things can be tricky. Best way to tell is to put it next to a bronze one for comparison. All classes are basically the same, they just receive a different finish (gold wash, silver, or none at all). The base metal is the same for each.
