While on another pedal car search, I came across this vintage motorcycle which I was able to purchase. It is a 1970 Honda SL350 and is in pretty nice shape. While not a real motorcycle guy, I've been told that this is a perfect example for someone to use as a cafe racer? The bike, according to the owner I bought it from, has not been run for many years and has been in storage in a shed.
Along with the bike came the original Honda Service * Repair Handbook.
If anyone out there has any information they can share, I'd greatly appreciate it (collectibility, value, etc.)

My father had (2) 1972 Honda SL350's on separate occasions that he fully restored to factory condition. From my understanding these bikes were built as an enduro bike than a cafe racer. Then again with a fairing around the headlight and some clubman bars you could probably turn anything into a cafe racer.
The biggest restriction I could see would be the 350cc engine.

It would be a crime to turn such a fine example of an SL350 into a cafe racer! A CB350 yes, but not an SL. The SL is much more sought after than the CB's and CL's. It also looks original and not a restoration. I would give it a good cleaning and prep it right before turnin the motor over, get it runnin good and leave it just like it is.

Yes that bike could very easily be show worthy with only a little work. There are hardly any of these left anymore. I absolutely love vintage honda motorcycles. Do not part with this bike. Cherish it
