I bought this at the museum store. It was on foam-core backing and shrink-wrapped. Price: $30.
This is a cloth banner from the late 1920s, early 1930s. Original size would've been 5 feet by 3 feet. I bought it because; A) I never seen one before and B) I think it might be an easy restore. It's a common sign design. Thinking I can recreate the left side that's missing and see about printing it on actual cloth fabric. Then splicing the two sections together and taping with fabric tape on the back. At least that's what was going through my head when I saw this.
Any other suggestions...feel free to advise. I believe this is a rare cloth sign. I didn't see it in any of the Petretti books.
