Article discussing the possibility of Spiro Agnew being impeached. The scandal involved bribes Agnew allegedly accepted during his time as the governor of Maryland. Twenty-one days later he reached a deal to plead no-contest to the charges and resign the office of the vice presidency. It was seen by some in the administration as a convenient distraction to the fire storm of controversy created by the Watergate scandal. Two months after this article was written, on November 17, 1973, Nixon gave the famous "I am not a crook" speech. He resigned himself on August 9, 1974.
