I think I see a gold hallmark on the pendant. Try to open the back and get a clear picture of the movement and any marks on the inside of the back cover.
Thanks for your comments it's really hard to see hallmarks on it there is one that shows 18 so I presume perhaps wrongly I'm not sure it means 18k gold and a number on the case and watch workings of 36451 there is also the mark of a G and either jlf or jlp, thanks

Yes it does run and it has 2 keys. Thanks for all the info so far. I agree it would be s shame for it to be scrapped.
It appears to be a 7-jewel cylinder escapement. These are fairly common and are often un-signed. You may want to carefully center the index arm between slow and fast. Very nice watch you should keep.
