I haven't thrifted too much this week, or found much. However, stopping by my local S. Army on my way home today, I ran into a stack of interesting things. I was carrying around a whole heavy armful, but only ended up with this mystery piece.
Plaster, couple of flea bites, zero markings. Just can't tell if this is some tourist piece, or a deco-ish piece. Can't find a match, but I expected that because...well...it's plaster. Doesn't have the right feel for a 50s remake.

Fun piece!
Love the way it looks from behind... well, love th whole thing: so Art Déco!!!
I'd say it's a keeper. A candle in it would look great! What colour? Grey! Blue grey!
It really looks like they are carrying something heavy, weighty, important even .... great modelling!
Thank you for the loves everyone. Really appreciate it!
Austro, I was laughing because I thought my picture from behind was the best too. Great minds think alike.
I agree regarding the candle color choices, but I hate to add to the weight those poor gals are carrying.
It's got that Egyptian revival thing going on, very nice!
Thanks! Plaster with little to no wiggle room. Good thinking on repurposing. Hmmmm...
Put a Wolfard oil lamp on it!!! wow it would look good, I have 4 all the sizes, they are expensive! but cheap on ebay, and so beautiful!!
