I'm confused by this old jug. It looks like Lincoln. What do you think? I didn't know what category to list it under so I'm going with pottery.

    IMO it's definitely Lincoln, but Toby jugs have much more precise paint jobs and more natural looking skin tones. I'll keep looking.

    try looking in the imades section for yahoo. here's the link I found by typing in vintage "madein" character mugs. LOL, I actually though the "madein" was a name insread of MADE IN,lol. so silly

    Agree it is Lincoln.

    I believe the term Toby implies it is a UK product-- I would call this a knock off made to compete with the UK product.

    "Made in Japan" is a 1920- WW2 mark and a post WW2 mark (after the occupation period). I would lean toward this being from the latter time period.
