i found this birdseye maple dresser in the trash of a neighbor's the other day - couldn't believe it! it's on little wooden wheels and has handmade dovetails on the drawer and the original finish - which has checkered alot. i'm guessing that it's from 1900-1920, but i don't know. do any of the experts have a better estimate of age or value [for my insurance]?

thanks bellin68. i like it alot too and can't believe someone would throw it in the trash. it has wooden wheels on it and is surprisingly light in weight. very nicely made, but no lables or writing anywhere.

I have that very same dresser, it belong to my Grandmother. It is a beautiful piece, I have never checked for any marking on the back, I just loved it because it was my Grandmothers.

I wonder if you could post a closer picture of the front and one of the dovetails? Birds eye maple is very pronounced and I don't see it in the picture. A closer one might help. Thanks
