Purchased this item at a yard sale, because it was unique. However, I have absolutely no clue what it is or is used for. Hopefully, someone will be able to tell me what I bought for a quarter!

Is it used to crimp the edge of pie crust???

There appears to be a blade edge on both sides of the heart and the arc of the heart. Not sure this is a pie crimper...a neighbor thought maybe a 2 row corn sheller, because of the blades. Whatever this tool is, it was used alot as the wooden handle is quite worn. Still a mystery - all over a 25 cent purchase!

Others I have shown this to have suggested the uses for : Leather work, strawberry huller and seamstress work - still no logical explanation. Even though it appears to have been found in kitchen drawers may not make it a kitchen tool. Think Junk drawer...still unsolved.
