This is a 1950 magazine advertisement for Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth imported by Munson G. Shaw Co., New York
-- Noilly Prat is a brand of vermouth from France. White Noilly Prat vermouth is the prototype of dry, straw-colored French vermouth. Joseph Noilly, a herbalist, developed the first formula in 1813. Noilly Prat now makes Red and Ambre vermouth as well, introduced in the 1960s and 1980s, but they are less widely known. Noilly Cassis was a blend of Noilly Prat Vermouth and Cassis, a black currant liqueur.
The Noilly Prat company is based in Marseillan, Southern France. The brand was acquired by Martini & Rossi in 1971 and is now a part of the Bacardi-Martini family of brands.
