Hi All,
My new find is the can, or what was a whole can when I got it. The bottom of the can (round thin disk) fell out first, the rest was incredibly crumbly and began to come apart. It has the beautiful patina color, unfortunately the color doesn't show in the pic. The unusual top to the can is detailed I think it comes off? I don't know if it was a screw on or pop cap. I notice the inside has melted small blobs of residue. could this have held gun powder? I have stored it away in a safe place in hopes it wont continue to deteriorate. The second thingy well it has a marking as you can see my blind butt doesn't do well even with a magnifying glass? I thought maybe military or hosiery? Anyone?
