A BRIEF HISTORY OF MODERN PEOPLES (on spine)
BARNES HISTORICAL SERIES (on cover)
MODERN HISTORY (on cover)
Copyright, 1883, by A. S. Barnes & Co.
Section I. Mediaeval Peoples
Section II. Modern Peoples
(16th century - 19th century)
294 pages with 122 illustrations & 16 maps.
The original owner of this book I believe is, George Bauer by the numerous times he signed the blank pages in front and back of the book. The first blank page is:
George Bauer
B.G. Feb. 25, 1889
The B.G. is for Berkeley Gym, Berkeley, Cal.
On the back side of the second blank page he wrote:
If anyone finds this book, please return it to George Bauer.
If he will not return it in 24 hours, he will have to pay a dollar for the book.
(I tried to locate a family member so I could pay the $1.00, but have not yet been successful)
Thanks for looking,
