Just to the right of the sticker there looks to be a full William Moorcroft signature!

It looks like this has always been a lamp and is not a converted vase. The sticker gives an indicator of age because the Moorcroft company was appointed as Potter to HM The Queen in 1928.
A very desirable piece of pottery if it is intact and undamaged. Wow!

Thanks for all the help and great comments. I looked up that Anemone and found a lot similar to this. I also google searched moorcroft and I just dont get the differance from $900 piece and a $10k piece.
I think you will find yours is much more desirable than the one you found and the one below, the signature is unusual on the lamp it's self, the paper label is still virtually intact and its' a early piece, as vetraio50 says 'look after it carefully' you have a wonderful piece of Moorcroft Pottery!...:-)

I am not a Moorcroft collector. I've never been able to afford it, but I think the fact that it is signed on the body of the vase and not on the base is a significant element. That signature is huge! It seems he signed all of the pieces himself. The Anenome pattern is fairly common, I think but this must have been a significant item. Perhaps it was an exhibition piece? Do you have any of its earlier history?

As to current values you should have a look at the Richard Wright collection that will go under the hammer in 11 days time in London. The 12,000 estimate is for a really early and rare Florian ware vase there. Have a look at the rest of the pieces for a general idea.
Inky, I think your right, The lamp hardware on mine is seems better. Pretty excited, its the first moorcroft I have ever owned. I am more of an american art pottery guy (newcomb, fulper, teco).
vetraio50, Heres some history. My friend bought it at an estate sale, in the midwest USA in 1980. He then sold it private to a dealer who loved it and never offered for resale. I just purchased at her estate sale last week.
Congratulations! well bought..:-)...and yes I agree!.. it is exciting when you find out a about a piece you have wanted to know about for ages isn't it? This site has helped me heaps with all the people and wonderful wealth of knoledge that is on here. I have a Moorcroft lamp nothing like your beauty! and a few other pieces and if you are really interested there a few great books on Moorcroft, I have three if you are interested in the titles but you will aways find them on line....:-)
