This is a 1954 magazine advertisement for J.W. Dant Bourbon Whiskey produced by the Dant Distillery Co., Dant, Kentucky. --- The Dant Distillery was founded in 1836 by Joseph W. Dant and incorporated in 1897. The distillery sat silent from 1920-1936 and after resuming for a decade and a half, closed in 1950. The J.W. Dant brand is now produced at the Bernheim Distillery under the owner since 1993, Heaven Hill Distillers, Inc. -- J.W. Dant is an inexpensive offering that has a mellow flavor of sweet corn and vanilla. It is not necessarily tasty or smooth enough to consume neat, but it’s not a bad choice for mixed drinks if you’re planning on consuming a lot in one night and want to be economical.
