Just started hunting for this glass. I cant get enough of it. Its getting pricey on the real good stuff though. They even made antique marbles out of this stuff. Its almost hypnotising if you stare at it long enough. Its been my experience so far that as I learn about the things I am interested in I tend to become emotionally attached to them. I have a feeling this is goning to be another attachment for life. Im addicted to the glow and the ambiance it provides. If ever there was such a thing as "glass being sexy"....This is SMOKIN HOT! Have to still get pics but I purchased a whole jar full of the vaseline marbles today at a local place I like to hunt. Wow is all I can say. Does anyone have any ideas how I can display "marbles" besides a bowl or cup??? I was thinking about trying a flower frog or those little crystal open salts I have...

I collect the green as well. I love the looks of it too! The blue depression glass is suppose to glow under black light also. I guess it does, I have never tried it. My wife and I use ours (cups, plates, ect....) on a daily basis. I haven't any marbles, but I will! Thank you!
Thank you for your comment antique1976. Im sure you heard the rumors that people thought they would contract cancer and other odd diseases from the uranium content in the glass. haha Of course this has since been proven to be nonsense, but what a laugh, huh? I am constantly amazed at the amount of items they made in vaseline glass. Thanks for your comment and keep enjoying that wonderful glowing glass!
Beautiful :) and stunning:)
i agree jay -- this uranium glassware is like i would imagine is like an opium euphoria -- my girls are in the hallway and as i come up the stairs -- it is almost like they beckon for you to come join them -- i guess that is why they are mermaids but the uranium seems to peak the calling even more -- always have to tell them good night before turning off the black light -- of course they say good night also
your items are lovely also -- i discovered the uranium glassware two summers ago when we were on the coast and stopped into an antique mall -- there it was this mesmerizing green coming from somewhere -- had to follow it -- i've been hooked ever since -- got lucky tonight and found another piece of walther's that i have been searching for now for a year -- again from a uk seller-- it is the mermaid tray and i did not have to mortgage the house to get her -- she was on a bin on ebay -- i prefer the bins as i am a bit of a vicious snipper with a good healthy helping of german guilt that sets in when i win and the other person lost out
have a great weekend -- rain is coming for us up here in the pacific nw -- yahoooooooo haven't seen it for almost two months and the ole columbia is feeling the pinch as well as the rest of us with the high water bills
responded to your last contact -- this is new to me so i am not sure if i comment on my site or the senders site -- so to be safe i respond on both -- information on this would be greatly appreciated
Thanks to everyone for all the LOVE!
hi jay -- perhaps try placing the marbles on some white satin or similar material -- when i turn my blacklights out on the girls at night anything white shows nicely -- have sandy or syd help you swirl the cloth -- got a feeling you will come up with some pretty combinations
Looks great. I've got a growing collection too. Buying and selling is fun.
Thanks for the love and comments nefariumx
