I think this rug is called a Kilim and is perhaps a "Turkish" or "Persian" rug. It is a flat weave not a pile. The colors are beautiful and very vibrant. I believe that with this type of rug alot of the pattern has different meanings and it is possible to determine more precisely from what region it may come from. I would also like to know if anyone has more information on the possible date of production and if it has any value. It is really a great looking rug and I may just hang it rather then use on the floor. It measures approximately 45 inches by 68 inches. Any help would be very much appreciated....
