Hi, I don't know much about furniture either, but perhaps I can start a discussion, so here goes. Looks like Tiger Oak, Arts and Craft style. Beautiful wood!
Thanks for the info and love Mikko.
I had thought it was a/c or mission but the "magnifying glass" pieces threw me off.
Do you think all 3 grains are tigers oak?
Thanks for the love tony.
It appears to be all Oak but the grainy part would be Tiger Striped aka Quarter Sawn Oak. Beautiful piece!
Hi, ks85! Some furniture pieces exhibit traits of both styles. In my opinion, yours is one such piece. Yes, the sides look like Mission style. I think Signaholic is correct - it doesn't appear to Tiger Oak throughout, but that's not unusual. Plenty of striking Tiger stripes on this piece to seize the eye! : ) I assume that the side rack is for umbrellas and/or canes. Do you think that it might have had a porcelain-finished or metal floor? It looks as if it might be missing a piece there, and I notice that the bar on this 'umbrella' partition looks like metal. Very interesting. : )
Thanks for the info and kinds words Signaholic and Mikko.
I do think there was probably something in the bottom of the side racks. I was thinking they might have had some type of metal bottom there to help catch any water, but am not really sure.
Thanks for the loves everyone.
