This is the first collection I had. My daddy, God rest his soul, would get his gas at ARCO and I remember him getting me these dolls, so it had to be in the mid 60's. Every time he filled up the car, he get a doll for .99 cents until he bought me all 12 of them. Unfortunately, I didn't save the boxes they came in, not that they are all that collectible or sell well, and I don't think I'd ever sell them anyway because my daddy got them for me, but it's my understanding that people who do collect them prefer to have the original box they came in, which was just a plain cardboard box. Also, for those of you who'll count, yes, they're are 13 dolls as later on, ARCO changed one doll to be Africa instead of Jamaica, same dress, but different skin color, so I got that one my self recently. Anyway, I think I played with them a little bit, but thank God, not too much as they are still in fairly decent shape! I have had to sew and glue a few of them here and there, but I love them and now I'm hooked on trying to get all the Blue Bonnet Margarine ones too! Hope you think they're as pretty as I think they are!
(Spain is my favorite because I'm Spanish, but the rest I love equally!)
