This Northwood carnival glass bowl was the one that started my love of carnival glass. It is in amethyst glass with a pce(pie crust edge). I purchased it at an antique store close to home from a couple that were almost too attached to let it go. It belonged to her mother all her life and the tag on the back reflected those words. At first glance I thought it was a Fenton Peacock bowl but to my wonderful surprise it was a rare Northwood. I payed $70 and later found an article about one EXACTLY like mine that sold at an auction in 2003 for $1000. I almost felt guilty for talking them down in price! Needless to say it will remain in my collection and be passed down to my child and hopefully remain an heirloom for many generation to enjoy....

Thanks AmberRose...This is the one that started it all for me. I love it dearly. Hard to believe that glass can be so beautiful at over a hundred years old.
Totally agree. This one is particularly nice.
I can't post tonight but I will ask for your opinion on a recent find probably tomorrow. Got my rump kicking yoga class tonight.
Really have been enjoying your posts!
