I found this amazing (60's-70's?) bracelet a few years ago and wear it w/the handmade ivory/sterling mid-century bracelet and NOW that I've searched this wonderful website - 2 bone bracelets that I always thought were ivory. Also a pictured camel etched on ivory w/sterling cut-out filligree ring. I think this was probably a tourist piece from Egypt? It's pretty cool.
There's a neighborhood bar a few miles down the road with an amazing collection of scrimshaw. We enjoy live music there & I always stand in front of the case and memorize each piece again. My boyfriend is used to my routine. He's probably memorized them as well waiting for me...
They used to have a hand-gun collection too. That creeped me out. I never stood in awe in front of that case....now gone - I'm sure for insurance and patron preference reasons? Anyway! I love my gorgeous scrimshaw bracelet and other ivory/bone pieces.

I loved reading your story, especially the bit about your boyfriend, I can just see him there...lol.. shame it's gone though! but at least you had the pleasure for a while..I love your bracelets and looking at them they do look like Ivory, lots of cross banding visible you don't get that in bone.....:-)
Thanks for your kind comments - the thinner bangle might be ivory. The scrimshaw collection is still at the bar - which I love. They took the handgun collection down. It's a really interesting place. The woman's bathroom had a wall completely mosiaced w/old buttons. I'm a merchandiser in my real working life so I love collections and how they are displayed.
I was mainly looking at the two solid round bracelets as being Ivory I cant see the other tow the ring properly, but I am certain those two are and sorry I read your story then got mixed up while writing, not hard for me to do..:-/.. but! glad that it is still there for you to gaze at and feeling sorry for your boyfriend again now...:-)
He likes collections too of a different sort. He's a bit of a hoarder -has 15 scotch tape dispensers on his coffee table right now. I would take a picture of you but it's not vintage quality yet. Anyway, he's a good sport. Thanks for you kind comments!
I meant "take a picture for you" My keyboard skips around.
Thank you all for the love. This is a beautiful bracelet which I treasure. And, I love my other items too - but especially the handmade mid-century bracelet.
