Bavarian Cross of Military Merit III Class, bronze finish with crown indicating a second award and with out swords indicating a noncombat award. There was also a II Class with silver finish and a I Class with a gold finish. All exist with and without crowns and with and without swords. This was an enlisted ranks only award. Officers got the enameled version made of real silver and gold which was called The Order of Military Merit.
