    As per Chrisnp’s request the next four posts will show both sides of the four awards illustrated to show German awards with cross top crowns.

    Saxe-Meiningen War Merit Cross on noncombatant ribbon. The ribbon on many German awards determined whether the award was combatant or noncombatant.

      The large letter B stands for Bernhard III Duke of Saxe-Meiningen 1914-1918.
