A 1940s Doxa gents wrist watch.
The 12" CAL.1 hand-winding movement is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good too. The movement is signed Doxa, Swiss Made. The winding crown moves around a little bit but is working just as it should be.
The watch measures 37.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs so it is larger than most watches of this vintage. The case is plated and there is wear and marking. The case back has the Doxa name inside and the number 4498491 on the outside.
The lens has very minor marks.
The dial is signed Doxa, Le Locle, Swiss, Anti Magnetique. There are some marks to the dial as you can see in the photos below. Skeletal hands and a subsidiary seconds dial.
A later black leather strap has been fitted.
