Here are some of the micro mosaic's that I bought in a lot. It was really cheap, you can't buy a coffee for that money. And just think of all the hours of work someone spend on them!
They all are without mounting. I guess they would have been mounted in a bracelet or something. I'm not sure yet what I will use them for, but I just loved them. I think I will make some earrings or pendants out of them. They are very small, about 1cm. I dont know the material of the stone in the last two pictures. The red stone is really very shiny.
    Anyone an idea?

I think they call the red stone Aventurine Pietra Dura Micro Mosaic. The really bright gold granular look is called 'goldstone' I think.

The aventurine are a true pair and would be ideal for earrings.
I think the first photo is called the "Temple of Vesta" or "Aedes Vestae" in Rome in the Forum ..." and the House of the Vestal Virgins. The temple's most recognizable feature is its circular footprint. Since the worship of Vesta began in private homes, the architecture seems to be a reminder of its history. The extant temple used Greek architecture with Corinthian columns, marble, and a central cella. The remaining structure indicates that there were twenty Corinthian columns built on a podium fifteen metres in diameter. The roof probably had a vent at the apex to allow smoke release." Wikipedia.

Wonderful, as a real Micro Mosaic freak I adore this lot. But, it's all made of Micro Mosaic (glass tesserae) and not Petra Dura. Petra Dura is jewelry work made of hardstone mostly coming from Florence. Micro Mosaic came from origin from Rome. The brown/yellos is the so called gold stone and the black is or Onyx or black glass. Again very beautiful you lucky one!

Agram, yes you are right, this is all micro mosaic. At first I thought they were pietra dura because they are mounted in stone, but then I saw indeed the tesserae are made from glass.
I have a pietra dura one too that was included in the lot, its a bit bigger than these. I will post it soon.

Newtimes, also in this way I like to thank you for your very nice suggestion to send me the very nice plaques. I must admit that is in long time such very nice gesture in dire. I not used anymore in this modern world that there are still such gentle and nice people. Fantastic it has me really well done. Everything what is desirable for the new year! I'll hope we meet frequently here on CW to share beautiful things.
