Bought this at the flea market this morning. The seller didn't know what is was from, and there were a couple of us trying to decide as well. Everyone agreed that it looked like it would've been a highway sign. The yellow paint is reflective like a highway sign. But looking online, I can't find another one like it. It does have some age to it, and it is heavy (not aluminum like the new signs). From the wear on the back of it, it was obviously mounted to a pole/post of some sort. Meaures 30" by 24". Anyone have any idea if this is a highway sign or what it might be from?

State Highway 152 Kansas marker sign
Kerry, do all of the Hwy 152 signs in Kansas look like this? I don't see any other pictures online of any. I do see that several states have a Hwy 152. Thanks for any info!
This is the design for all "STATE" highways in Kansas, Not the interstates or US Route, but for their(Kansas) highway markers, Google "Kansas Highway signs " , then click "Images" and you'll see several of this type of signs,
Thanks, Kerry! I appreciate your help!
You're welcome, I didn't help much, just lived close to Kansas and spent many a day driving thru and around. That's how I knew the design.
And now the yellow background makes sense after finding out that the sunflower is the state flower of Kansas.
