I have always been facinated by the dolphins they put into the old glassware. So when I had an opportunity to bid on this one at an online auction I couldnt resist. Sure there are ones that are more classic and expensive but this was one I could afford on my budget. I payed more for the shipping to get it here safely than I did for the candy dish! Im crazy about the frosted satin glass and have several pieces in my collection. I will have to get pictures and post them. Im not sure exactly what year this was made and if anyone out there knows I would be grateful to learn. They made these in various colors, even in slag glass too. The apricot color is probably my favorite but hard to find. Enjoy!

Westmoreland Speciality made this in milk glass as early as 1885 calling it Shell and Dolphin; Vallerysthal also made their version with slight variations beginning in 1908. Westmoreland Glass reintroduced the pattern in the 1960s as Argonaut and produced it in at leat 35 different colors of glass. These are widely available and often found on eBay in the various colors; tray an eBay search for Westmoreland Dolphin.

Hello deborahchilders2. I am not sure what you are asking for in the way of information but I can try. Some info you can find in the title and posting here. How about you start there and tell me what else you would like to know and I can try to help you that way. Otherwise I may go on and on and never answer the question you are wanting answers too. If it is easier, you may send any questions directly to my email which is listed at the end of my profile page.
