Paperback / 384 pages / Fully illustrated with over 1000 pictures and nearly 400 breeds. Detailed information on all aspects of owning and looking after a dog, the history of dogs and their place in the human world. Complete section of British Kennel Club registered dogs including their allocated groups such as Working Group or Toy Group. Also has breed information boxes with symbols detailing the breeds generic group, size, coat care, and feeding requirements. Shown are two page openings, the first being from the British Terrier Group. The Scottish Terrier (well-known as Scotties) were once called Broken-haired or Aberdeen Terriers and were registered under their current breed name in 1897. The other open page is of the well-known and loved Dalmatian which was bred early in the eighteenth century mainly as coach or carriage dogs for their abilities as fabulous guard dogs and also to run ahead of horse drawn conveyances to "clear the way".
