I bought this piece in Arkansas years ago from a dealer, he thought it was nothing but I think it is, I have never found out anything at all on the back to back "R's". It is very well done and has beautiful colors !
If anyone has ever seen this signature, or this style of art work in pottery, I would be forever grateful :)

You know. . . now that I posted it, it seems to look like a Lotus bloom maybe or a dragon fruit ?? Hummmm
Interesting piece! My first thought was it looked like a sand dollar. The impressed mark at first glance looked like an old Rookwood mark (before the 'flames' around the letters), but it's not one I've ever seen before. Whatever and whoever.. it's a really pretty piece. How large is this piece, if you don't mind my asking.
very beautiful :)
Chinablue, I thought the exact same thing about the rookwood mark, I have searched every avenue for that one, wouldn't be GREAT if it was an art piece by one of the rookwood artists !!! One can only hope. . .
As for the size . . . 3" tall x 8-1/4" across.
It is 1/4" thick and you can see all the little finger indentations made by the artist. I really LOVE the piece, just wished I knew more about it :) . . . . someday!
