This cast iron toy belonged to my dad. I was told it is a marble shooter. The back legs are spring loaded. I'm trying to figure out if that is what it really is, who may have made the item and an approximate age. My dad was born in 1925. So I'm guessing it is from the 20's or 30's. I have not been able to find any information about this little donkey. It's about 2 1/2" long. I have taken it to numerous local antique shops and looked on line with no success. It could be quite rare. Can anybody help?

That is so neat! I wish I'd had that myself when playing marbles back when I went to school. You could keep that small animal cover up with your coat cuff and gather up a lot of marbles,... that is until some big bully caught you cheating with that donkey kicker you have there. That's an amazing little tool you have there and that's about the only good use I could think to use it for.

Oh,... excuse me,... another use for it could possibly be when getting close enough to that big bully who kick your butt for using it, preferably coming from behind and he is sitting at his desk, and thump him in his noggin. Not suggesting for use this day and age, but it would have work well back then as the antique that it is.
